Marlborough sites

Sean: I thought I would send along some pictures of Marlborough which is where we will be staying while in England. These are pictures we took while we were looking for a house back in Jan.

As you can see Marlborough is a very cute town. The pictures are looking out onto the High street (main street) where all the shops are located. Marlborough has all the core amenities that you could hope for in a little town. It will probably feel much like living in Atascadero just much more rain.

All of these are taken from out our hotel window at the Castle and Ball hotel. Which is a fine place but has some really weird stairs. I guess that is what you get when the build dates back to the Spanish Armada. That is the late 1500s for those of us who dont know our history that well.

These two shots at the end are of their farmers market which they have 2 days per week.

Tracey: I've been admittedly hesitant about this move with my crazy 2year old and a little stressed about all the details involved in it. So, it was our 2nd night in Marlborough and Sean and I, still on California time were up at 2 or 3am when the pubs started to shut down and the drunken patrons were heading home. It was a warm night, for England, and the hotels windows were open. Quite unexpectedly, a drunken man started singing the most beautiful opera on the street. It was at that moment I knew that everything was going to be alright and this move would provide us with some pretty amazing experiences.

Start of the blog

Sean: I thought it might be helpful to keep a blog of the upcoming travels and work in Swindon UK. I have so many people asking me questions:

  • How is the move going? - in progress
  • If I am excited? - yes and overwhelmed
  • Hows the food in England? - been great so far
  • Do you have a place to live? - Not yet but we will be working on it soon on an upcoming trip
  • Does it rain all the time there? - Surprisingly enough it has been quite pleasant on each trip there but I am not planning on that being the norm.

I thought I would put the core parts down in a blog for all to read. I hope that this allows you to understand what is going on with the Shopatron office expansion into Europe and get really excited by it. Feel free to ask questions and I will try to keep up with them.

This is my first experiment with blogging so bear with me as I get the hang of it.

Tracey: Okay, so I've been resistant to the whole blogging thing but it seems there is now a good reason to do it - keeping family and friends up to date on what we're up to and reducing the number of emails I have to send out. So, I'll probably cover most of the family and travel stuff while Sean focuses more on the work side of things. (You mean we're not just here to see Europe? Oh, that's right...)
